You’ve been a fan of NASCAR racing for years and have never had the chance to go and watch one live. The opportunity finally presents itself, but you don’t know how to prepare for the occasion or what to expect. This article is going to prepare you for your first-ever NASCAR racing event and will make it a memorable day for you. Keep on reading to achieve that.
- Pick A Track
Short tracks are race tracks that are shorter than a mile. As a first-time NASCAR race attendee, you should choose a race track that’s not too long. You wouldn’t want your first NASCAR race event to drag on for so long or you’ll get tired or bored. Short race tracks like Martinsville Speedway, Bristol Motor Speedway, and Richmond Raceway are highly recommended.
Once you’ve decided on the track where you want to go and watch a racing event, the next issue is the ticket. You need to get your ticket early. Booking your seat early leaves you with a wide range of places to choose from. If you get your ticket some days prior to the racing event you’ll most likely be at the back, and I’m sure you wouldn’t want to watch your very first racing event from the end, would you?
3 Get A Pair Of Binoculars
Take a pair of binoculars with you. The reason is so you can get to see the teams, cars, and drivers better. There would be no sense of attending a racing event when you can’t even see the cars or what is going on the track really well.
- A Camera
It is your first-ever racing event and you don’t want to take a camera along???? You could always use your phone but does your phone’s camera capture the magic going on in the track? This event could be a top 10 memory for you and what’s better than taking pictures of a memorable event? Get a camera with a telephoto lens so it can capture what’s going on on the track better.
You’re going to be sitting on aluminum grandstands for hours, so you definitely need sunscreen. You might alternate between standing and sitting and if you know you want to do without inconveniences throughout the whole racing event get sunscreen. It will prevent that awkward ride home and also skin cancer.
No one likes it when their ears are ringing. Do you want to avoid this? Go for your NASCAR race with an earplug or noise deterring headsets. Nascar races are obnoxiously loud and noisy. Go with earplugs so you can avoid a headache filled day the next day.
You’re going to need all the liquids you can get on that day to stay hydrated. You’re going to be doing a whole lot of jumping and cheers, and you’re going to need energy boosts. Go with a lot of liquids to reduce the possibility of getting a heat stroke. Also, go with some snacks, so you don’t get hunger pangs. Being hit with a sudden thirst or hunger would suck big time on that day.
- A Radio Or Scanner
I’m sure you would like to be privy to what’s going on on the track so here’s a tip, go with a radio or scanner. Radios or scanners will let you hear what’s going on the track. You hear what the teams and their drivers are talking about as if you’re on track with them. Don’t forget to use your headphones as you’re using them, so you don’t get distracted.
With these eight tips, you should have a blast at your first-ever racing game!
